The Poker Players Alliance which is widely known as PPA has given a check for $25,000 to the United Service Organizations of Metropolitan Washington, moreover the charity poker tournament which has been organized at the Regency Hyatt, has raised additional sum of $10,000. The funds will be directed to the support of the programs and services of USO-Metro helping to the wounded warriors and the members of their families who receive treatment at the National Naval Medical Center, Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the area Warrior Transition Units.

During this tournament 30 wounded warriors has played with the poker pros, among them we can mention such famous poker players as Annie Duke, Greg Raymer, Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher, Dennis Phillips and some others. The members of Congress: Shelley Berkley, Xavier Becerra, Martin Heinrich, Pete King, Tom Perriello also have taken part in the evening festivals. The Armey Sergeant Bret Chevalier has become the winner and got the trip to Las Vegas. The idea of such tournament is really great, the poker pros and the members of Congress has been able to support the wounded warriors.

The USO is the organization helping to the warriors and their families who need the treatment and recover at the military hospitals, it provides patient excursions, emergency housing, handshake tours and other nice actions aimed to support not only the fiscal condition, but the morale. The current tourney has given the opportunity to the wounded warriors to relax and draw away from the everyday problems.
