The 5th of June was declared Women in Poker Hall of Fame Day (WiPHOF). It is aimed to acknowledge the contributions which have been made by women in the gaming industry in a whole and poker play in particular. The dinner and dance sponsored by Rockwell Time, the career accomplishments were celebrated at the Golden Nugget. Three names were added to the row of the famous women, they were Jan Fisher, June Field and Cindy Violette.

Mike Sexton opening the festival began with the red carpet walk of the poker stars and the leaders of the top gambling companies. This remarkable event was opened for the general public and mass media it took place on the 5 of July at 6 PM in Pebble Beach ballroom of the Golden Nugget Casino. The visitors of the event were able to enjoy epicurean feast, auction, cocktails and good music. General admission was equal to $90 the proceeds benefited www.PokerGives.org.

On the 4th of June, Thursday Mike Sexton organized the charity tournament which was called “Shuffle Up for Poker Gives”. The main prize was the 2010 World Poker Tour ™ Celebrity Invitational entry, the half of the prize pool got the best 10 players and all the participants were given some commemorative gifts. WPT Enterprises proclaimed that the main prize couldn’t be substitute for any reason.

Poker Gives is the fund of 501(c)(3) Nevada Community Foundation of Las Vegas, it supports such organizations as The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Special Olympics and many others.
